Terms & Conditions, Liability and Learner's Agreement:

Information on medical devices and equipment are drawn from the manufacturers’ product literature, medical and pharmaceutical literature, regulatory authorities, and professional bodies.

Advice is constructed from clinical literature and reflects, as far as possible, an evaluation of the evidence from diverse sources. Diver Emergency Ltd also takes account of authoritative national guidelines and emerging safety concerns. In addition, the Faculty receives advice on all therapeutic areas from expert clinicians; this ensures that Diver Emergency Ltd's recommendations are relevant to practice.


Clinical procedures and devices used in DELS training is in accordance with current best clinical practice guidelines, including but not exclusive to:
  • RCSEd Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care Manual of Core Material
  • British Thoracic Society Guidelines for Emergency Oxygen Administration
  • European Resusciation Council Guidelines
  • JRCALC Clinical Practice Guidelines

Sales & Training Terms and Conditions:

Any purchase of products and training from Underwater Science Ltd will be governed by these terms to the exclusion of any other terms.
  • All products are offered subject to their availability;
  • All orders are subject to acceptance by Underwater Science Ltd;
  • Discounted prices are for Underwater Science Ltd customers only and for general public sale at the discretion of the Managing Director;
  • The quantity, quality and description of any specifications for the products shall be those set out in the site but you should be aware that the images appearing on the website are not always accurate;
  • We reserve the right to correct errors and omissions in any price or other information without any liability;
  • We are happy to offer any advice or recommendations concerning the suitability or otherwise of a product for the intended user but point out that such advice is followed or acted upon entirely at your own risk;
  • You should hold a recognised diving qualification issued by a recognised training organisation before purchasing or using any diving equipment from Underwater Science Ltd, and we reserve the right to ask for proof of qualification before shipping certain items, even when items have been paid for;
  • In the event of an individual not holding a suitable qualification, they will be entitled to a full refund, less administration charges.

Order Delivery:
  • Items may sometimes be out of stock in, or that of the distributor or manufacturer. This may mean that your order could be shipped in multiple deliveries.
  • You will be advised of the estimated delivery period but please leave up to 14 days for delivery;
  • Items held in stock will usually be dispatched on the day following receipt of your order but some out-of-stock products may take longer. Any delivery date will be an estimate only;
  • The Underwater Science Group shall not be liable for delays caused by matters outside our control or caused by a third party, such as the postage courier;
  • Any claim based on any defect in quality or condition of the products must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of delivery after which you will be deemed to have accepted the products;
  • Risk of damage to or loss of the product shall pass to you at the point at which it is delivered;
  • All orders have to be sent to the purchaser's UK address, unless previously arranged.

Paypal and Card Payments:
  • Payment is due on completion of the online order process with Paypal;
  • Payment will normally be debited from your card by Paypal on the day the order is submitted;
  • All prices on the The Underwater Science Group websites are subject to change without prior notice to reflect any increase in the cost to us;
  • We aim to protect legitimate credit card owners from fraud and therefore will report to the necessary authorities any person attempting to use a card which they are not authorised to use;
  • We hold the right to ask for a bank transfer for any order placed with us.

Warranties and Liability:
  • To the extent permitted by law, we have no liability for the content of any websites which we may link to from this site or which may link to this site;
  • All products supplied conform to all relevant British and European standards;
  • Should there be a defect in any of the product supplied then we will replace the defective products free of charge or if you choose not to have a replacement you are entitled to a full refund of the price of the product (or a proportionate part of the price);
  • Your statutory rights are unaffected;
  • E&OE applies at all times.

Returning Unwanted, Wrong Size or Faulty Goods:
  • Damaged Goods: Please contact the Underwater Science Ltd immediately upon noticing any fault, the goods can then be replaced;
  • Please note that fault during use, such as flooding, may require goods to be returned to the manufacturer for warranty confirmation;
  • Unwanted goods: Please contact Underwater Science Ltd within 7 days.  A refund, minus the cost of posting the item to you and an administration fee (15%), can be issued for any unused returned goods.  After 7 days you are deemed to have accepted the goods and will not be eligible for a refund;
  • A restocking fee of 15% will be charged for all goods returned;
  • Exchange goods: Please contact Underwater Science Ltd before returning any items.  If the item was ordered incorrectly i.e. wrong size or colour then an exchange can be made;
  • Postage will not be free on the returned item;
  • General: When returning goods please enclose receipt, contact details (including daytime phone), credit card details and a note of why the goods are being returned.

Your Right to Cancel:

  • You may cancel your order and return the products to us and receive a refund at any time up to 7 days after you have received the products;
  • To cancel or return all or part of an order you must notify us in writing within 7 days, after which you will be deemed to have accepted the goods you ordered;
  • After the 7 days from receipt of purchase you will have 'accepted' the goods and no refunds will be issued;
  • Exchanges will be made only in exceptional circumstances.

Learner Agreement:

Students agree to abide by the following "Learners Agreement" which shows that they agree to the following terms and conditions.  It is very important that you understand and agree to these conditions before you enrol on any Underwater Science Ltd or HSE approved diver training agency courses offered by The Underwater Science Group:

By enrolling for any Course, or recognised diver training agency course with the The Underwater Science Group you are confirming that, in deciding upon your choice of learning programme, you have considered the implications of the following:
  • Cost
  • Time
  • Commitment
  • Organisation
  • Ability
  • Potential
  • Career Direction
1.  You understand that there is no automatic entitlement to any financial support and that no decision as to entitlement can be determined until after you have made a formal application to Underwater Science Ltd;

2. You understand the entry requirements of your chosen programme and the necessity for Initial Assessment for all courses and designated part time provision;

3. Where Initial Assessment or other results indicate that you are not suited to your course of choice, The Underwater Science Group reserves the right to transfer you to an alternative course or to ask you to leave the course if no suitable alternatives exist or can be agreed.

4. In the event of a student being asked to leave a course, you will be refunded the course fee, less a 50% administration charge for the course in question, less costs of training all ready provided at a pro-rota rate.

5. You have received advice and guidance on learning programme choice and are satisfied that the learning programme is suitable for your needs and abilities.

6. You will complete and submit all work, including homework, and undertake additional learning support, key skills etc. as required in order to complete your learning objectives.

7. You will undertake to inform Diver Emergency Ltd immediately of any changes in your circumstances that may affect your course status.

8. You agree to abide by The Underwater Science Group ACoPs.

9. You understand that all course fees quoted, including those agreed at a discounted rate as well as those on the websites, are the fees which apply to students who are over 16 years of age and who have been resident in the EU for the past 3 years or longer, for purposes other than study.

10. Some learners may be required to pay a higher fee rate than the rate normally quoted to enquirers. Alternativley, some Learners may be eligible for fee concessions, dependant upon individual circumstances and/or the particular course enrolled upon.

11. Where Learners have misrepresented their entitlement to a particular fee rate, either intentionally or unintentionally, or have failed to provide appropriate/adequate information (“prior to” or at the “point of” enrolment), TUSG reserves the right to subsequently charge the correct fee rate and/or to exclude any learners from course provision who have not paid the correct fee.

12. Examination fees: Some course will include an examination fee, registration fee and/or assessment fee. These fees may need to be paid at the same time as the course fees, when you register for the course. The TUSG expects that you will enter for all examinations related to the course(s) for which you are enrolled.

13. Payment of examination fees does not automatically guarantee entry for the examination, this is at the discretion of the Underwater Science Ltd Chief Executive.

14. You understand that the TUSG may need to contact yourself; your next of kin; your employer or other fee sponsoring body with regard to issues such as attendance, conduct, progress etc. Such communication may be via telephone, letter, fax, email, sms or any other appropriate means.

15. You are advised that because circumstances change, TUSG accepts no liability for the accuracy or otherwise of statements appearing in course materials nor will the TUSG be responsible for any detriment suffered in reliance on them e.g. you should check with any Institution that you wish to progress onto that the programme you intend to follow at TUSG meets their specific entry requirements.

16. In purchasing any course you are also accepting that the TUSG may not be able to provide the services or programmes outlined in course materials in a range of circumstances, including: low class numbers, long-term illness of specialist staff; industrial action; severe weather conditions; severe damage to buildings; any circumstances which may affect the Health and Safety of Staff or Students. In such circumstances the TUSG reserve the right to withdraw any programme or service and offer a refund if appropriate or another date for the course you have enroled.

17. Training Conditions:When purchasing training packages from the TUSG you will be assessed in accordance with the relevant training organisations standards. Purchase of training does not guarantee successful completion of the course. All examinations must be completed to the satisfaction of the awarding body.

18. Students who are unfit to attend training days due to the effects of alcohol or drugs will lose that training day; no refunds will be given.

19. Abuse of Instructors is not tolerated in any form. Students who are abusive to Instructors or visiting speakers will be removed from the class and will lose that training day with no refund being given. If the student continues to be abusive, they will be removed from the course of training and no refund will be issued.

Training Conditions:

20. When purchasing training packages from Underwater Science Ltd you will be assessed in accordance with the relevant training organisations standards.  Purchase of training does not guarantee successful completion of the course.  All examinations must be completed to the satisfaction of the awarding body.

This constitutes a learning agreement between the student and the TUSG and may be amended by additional signed papers if necessary. Where possible, students will sign a copy of this learning agreement as soon as possible after starting their chosen course, however, by purchasing any course from Underwater Science Ltd, you are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
